Memories Last A Lifetime.

I don’t spend money on toys.

I spend money on experiences.

Toys get broken, thrown away and forgotten. 20 years from now they won’t care about the toys they had. Don’t get me wrong my children do not go toy-less by far and their room/living room is proof of that. And sure, I remember a few toys I had and even still have them. But when I look back on my childhood, it’s not the toys I remember having fun with, it’s the experiences I had in life. The time I spent with my family and friends. I don’t want my children to grow up any different. What they will remember is the experiences  and good times we had in life. Whether I spent money on them or not. It’s the pictures and ultimately the memories we take that last forever. Long after I’m gone.

What about you?
Am I a bad mom for doing this?
What are your thoughts on this?
What do you do to create special memories with your children?
